25% of Home Insurance Policies Cancelled due to Recession

One out of four persons who have canceled or not renewed your annual home insurance in order to save money during the recession, according to a recent survey conducted by the Association of British insurers (ABI).

The investigation carried out by a national survey of over 2,000 adults conducted by YouGov on behalf of the ABI, also shows that other popular form of insurance such as life insurance are also being ignored, as families seek to balance expenditures with income, which is already in most homes a seemingly impossible task. Universal Casualty Company (UCC) Banned in Indiana

Indiana has ordered Elk Grove Village, Illinois-based auto insurer Universal Casualty Company (UCC) to stop writing the new insurance policies in the state until the company can demonstrate “improved business practices,” according to the Indiana Department of Insurance (IDOI). IDOI has also fined the company $200,000. (more…)

Health Insurance Survey: Indicates the points to worry!

As indicated by the new survey, about one in four US citizens (23.6%) think that their health insurance will be lost at some point in the next year.
The survey was conducted by the University of Michigan to measure confidence in the U.S. health care system; the study also found that overall consumer confidence in health services declined slightly in May. (more…)
